PM-KISAN Yojana stands for 'Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi'.
Aim of PM Kishan Sanman Nidhi Yojana:-
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been announced by the Government of India as a 100% Centrally Assisted Scheme to assist the farming family as part of increasing the income of the farmers.
Standard of Assistance, Installment Amount of PM-KISHAN Sanman Nidhi Yojana:-
Rs.6000/- assistance per year to the farming family will be available through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Which will be paid in three equal installments at an interval of four months. In which the first installment will be from 01/12/2018 to 31/03/2019. Thereafter, the second installments will be paid every four months.
Eligibility of PM Kishan Nidhi Yojana:-
All farming families not included in the category of husband, wife and minor children (below 18 years of age) who either individually or jointly own their own cultivable land (other than institutional landholders) and none of whose members are eligible for assistance are eligible for assistance.

Standards for Land Holders:
- For calculation of land holding, land holding as on 01/02/2019 has to be taken into consideration.
- This benefit will not be available to any new land holder for the next five years, except in case of hereditary transfer of ownership due to the death of the land holder.
- Dt. A land holder registered as a land holder in the period from 01/12/2018 to 01/02/2019 will be entitled to benefit from the date of registration of possession of land in the land record.
- In such cases where the ownership rights of arable land due to purchase, inheritance, will, gift etc. have been transferred during the period from 01/12/2018 to 31/01/2019, they will be eligible for the benefit in proportion to four months for the period from the date of transfer to 31/03/2019 for the first installment of the financial year 2018-19.
Who Is Eligible for PM Kishan Sanman Nidhi Yojana:-
Under the scheme, the farmer family with higher economic status mentioned below will be ineligible for the benefit.
(a) Institutional Landholders
(b) any one or more persons of the land holding cultivator family who include any of the following.
1. All present and past constitutional office holders
2. Current and former Ministers/Ministers of State, current and former Members of the Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/Assembly, current and former Zilla Panchayat Chairpersons
3.Serving and Retired (All) – All officers, employees of Central and State Government Ministries/Offices/Departments and their field offices, all Central and State Government Public Undertakings, all Central and State Government owned Autonomous and Affiliated Institutions and regular (other than Multi Tasking Staff/Class-IV/Group-D) bodies.
4. All age retirees/retired pensioners between B-2/3 who are drawing Rs. 10,000/- or more receiving pension (other than Multi Tasking Staff/Class-IV/Group-D)
5. Taxpayers who have paid income tax in the last assessment year as well as professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects who are registered with professional bodies and carrying on business in the form of practice.
